rom Jacque:
Dear friends, (written Dec 17th but now now I’m back after a great trip to see my brother and dad)
This is a quick note because I am leaving tomorrow morning for CA to see my dad and brother for one week. I am traveling alone as Len has to work but will return on Christmas Day for our Christmas here. This week was the end of school, Roselyn brought a friend home for a conference all week, Wes had finals, and I was trying to get all the Christmas things done ahead. Then there is the usual laundry, groceries and caring for my mom. I am not bored….. Christmas cards came last but I thought I could write them on the plane like I have done other years.
For many of you I look forward to hearing how your year has gone and it is a great way to keep in touch. So here goes a quick note.
Highlights for:
Wes…He turned 17 in November, is doing well at school, drives, works, and is active in youth group. He romps with Kissafer (our pooch) and entertains her everyday. He was certified in diving and went with his Uncle Stock (Len’s brother-in-law) to Bon Aire to dive for a week. What a great experience!
Roselyn…She is a junior at Northwestern. She and her friend were here in Goshen for a week long AIDS conference. She stayed in Chicago all summer working and this fall moved into an apartment with 3 others. The joys of sharing living quarters with many has also been a great education. She attends a church that is very neat called Reba Place.
Len…Our highlight together was taking 10 days while Wes was gone and doing fun things in Michigan. We spent time in Grand Haven along lake Michigan, then did little boat trips on some local rivers around here, and ended up in Chicago with a dinner on a boat that cruises along the Chicago shore line. It was so great! What we both love is no schedule….no responsibilities…no phones…no computers…no work. We picked up Wes at the airport and then back to work……
Len also got a new truck, plays drums at CF, is always fixing something, and is still my very best friend.
Jacque…This summer I spent two weeks in CA to visit my brother Bob and to help care for my dad. We drove around in a silver Sebring convertible (rental car) and it was wonderful.
I teach, take care of my mother, the family, my pooch, and also am a part of a team that does worship and prayer for 2 hours at a ministry called Voice. Their vision is to have worship/prayer 24 hours everyday. I love to be a part of that.
Merry Christmas,
Jacque for the Wilsons
