November 22, 2007 Dear Friends,
Merry Christmas to all. This seems to be the time of year where we catch up on each others lives. This year seemed to be a year of being on the go for our family.
Highlights for:
Wes…He is a sophomore at Purdue pursuing a Spanish education major, Intervarsity is a big part of his life along with Laura, his girlfriend. Summer was working second shift (3-11pm) for him, learning to ski on one ski, baptism in June, and multiple guy bonding times with Len. One of those was a 25 mile bike ride on the Kal-Haven to South Haven when they took a wave runner out on Lake Michigan and then rode back the next day.
Roselyn…She is finished with school and working for her church Reba Place in Evanston. She likes hanging out with her boyfriend, Jesse. She helped to organize a conference, and enjoys living in Evanston.
Len…He continued working 10 hours a day and Saturdays until this last October where things went to a 45 hour week. He was going quite often to sail on Chuck’s sailboat on Lake Michigan, running up to Perrin Lake to get the boats working so Wes and friends could ski, and going on trips with me. Of course there are the many projects to fix at home.
Jacque…This February I was in a worship dance, then went to a dance/arts conference in Chicago in August…Spring break had me going through all my 2nd and 3rd grade things as I took an all day position for K. I spent much of July going to the school room to get ready. In June I flew to Flagstaff to be with Benjie, my new great nephew, for a week, then over Labor Day flew to Denver for Shelly’s ( my niece) wedding shower.
Jacque and Len…
We took many small trips this year: Holland MI for the tulip festival, Brown County for a friend’s wedding, to Chicago to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, and spent 6 days in Seattle in October where my niece was married.
We love our new church (although an hour for singing is long for Len). I am exploring how dance may fit in with the worship times there.
Since we have been going a lot, this Thanksgiving and Christmas we plan to be home.
Merry Christmas,
Jacque and Len
