Len's neighborhood beautification project......
After money and pain
Couldn't resist this one.....

Dear family and friends,

For the last few years, staying up to see the New Year in seemed like a waste of sleep so this year we turned back the clock 4 hours and celebrated on our own time (it’s something that empty nesters can do!). We proceeded to watch the snow fall, lit up by the street lights displaying a winter wonderland. Needless to say we started chatting and the hours slipped by and we really did see the new year in.

Highlights this year..

Wes:
Wes left for Monterrey, Mexico in August as part of Purdue’s student studies abroad program. He is in flight to return today. His previous major had been Spanish education but he has now switched to Phys Ed & Health. This change had started before his trip to Mexico but I think the trip helped confirm it to him.

Roselyn:
Living in Evanston, Il. in a house owned by the Reba Place Fellowship. She works at Reba Church office, and does some miscellaneous jobs for people.

Len:
What can I say? Work at Syndicate is steady, although we have felt the effects of a slow economy. I purchased a “project house 4-plex” in August. Par for the course, it needed a lot more work than I originally thought, and I can’t stand to do shoddy work. I have teamed up with a carpenter friend and will say that we are kindred spirits with our work style. I’m hoping to be up and renting by the end of the year. My long days have nonetheless caused more than one discussion around the house, but I think we have come up with a agreeable compromised schedule.

Jacque :
I was working with dance, but around May could hardly raise my leg. Thus started a summer of physical therapy and a routine of exercise. In July my sister, two nieces, and great nephew came in from 3 different Western states and had a great time at the lake. In September I was able to travel to South Carolina for a birthday celebration.

Len and I:
We were able to travel to South Haven in July for our 6th wedding anniversary.

Merry Christmas and may God’s peace and love come your way this year.

We enjoyed a jazz concert at Fernwood in Niles, Mi.
